Payments are based on a per-second rate, that rate will change frequently depending on the numbers of visits to the platform, the amount of EMT left to give away as rewards and the overall number of subscription fees being paid.
As the platform matures, Emanate artists may get paid more per second if they are on a Pro-Connect subscription than on a lower tier or free account.
Currently, all tiers pay the same rate (December 8, 2020)
The calculations that have been done to determine the per-second rate show that Emanate can pay artists several multiples more play than Spotify.
Artists are paid using an internal token (technically called MNX) which will always be treated as 1c USD. MNX can be swapped for EMT in the early stages of the network and, artists who want to cash out into another currency will need to access an exchange that lists EMT.
As soon as the network is bringing in a sufficient amount of subscription fees, artists will be given other cashout options that are more direct and better for the EMT token economy.
